Our family-operated ranch takes great pride in paying attention to every detail involved in raising the highest-quality, free-range Dexter beef. Our mission is to apply our beliefs about a sustainable agricultural system and humane treatment of animals to the land, the cattle and our natural beef production.

One major reason our quality of beef is so high is that Windfall Ranch is a truly natural cattle breeding, raising and processing ranch. In addition to feeding our cattle on grasses in a free range setting, we make sure they are raised in a stress-free, natural environment.

The cattle raised for beef production at Windfall Ranch are always free from antibiotics, hormones and steroids. Our animals are fed on the lush, vitamin-rich grasses in the most natural of settings, with no added pesticides or herbicides. In the winter, they are supplied with hay produced on our own ranch.

Our cattle live in a truly free-range environment, raised on a 50-acre pasture with a very low density of cattle per acre. This low number of cattle prevents damage to the soil and native grasses. We follow a rigorous soil testing program and continually add pasture improvements to protect the land.

Our Dexter cattle are checked daily for their health and comfort. They receive recommended veterinary care as specified by Texas A & M University, have shade and fresh water in the pastures, and are treated for pests such as flies.

Windfall Ranch cattle are pasture fed, producing beef that is lower in total fat and calories than feedlot beef. Also, pasture-fed beef contains additional amounts of Vitamin E and beta-carotene, making it much healthier than grain-fed beef.

* Reducing risk of arthritis, obesity, insulin resistance, allergies, and auto immune diseases
* Lower in Omega 6, which contributes to some cancers, diabetes, obesity and several immune disorders.

Windfall Ranch uses a family-owned processing company in Bryan, Texas, with processing done by appointment only. Windfall Ranch personally delivers the steers to the processor, ensuring that the company has no groups of cattle. We deliver directly to the door and the cattle are processed immediately, guaranteeing that the meat has not been co-mingled and as fresh as possible. Of course, all meat is USDA-inspected. The individual cuts are vacuum-sealed. We take special orders for whole animals or half-sides that can be processed to the customer’s exact specifications.
